Helping Hands

“A Helping Hand for Helping Hands” is in its third year as an outreach program of our church and provides training grants and funding for the staff, trustees, executives, and volunteers of not-for-profit human service agencies that serve the Northern Berkshires, with funding from a Makepeace grant.  2008 grants were given to Beth Parker ($614), Williamstown Council on Aging ($1,000), Berkshire Family and Individual Resources ($780), the REACH program of North Adams Regional Hospital ($235), Berkshire Community Action Council ($500), and Berkshire Immigrant Center ($500).  One individual returned her grant check because she was unable to attend a course this fall.  We hope, with the information to be supplied by the agencies that our congregation supports, that our church members will be motivated to become involved with these agencies as supporters or volunteers.
