The time for our biggest Church fund raiser is fast approaching. May is when we collect donations from Williams’ students to recycle and reuse/resell in the fall. Since it is our biggest fund raiser (last year we earned about $21,000+ put toward our budget) and we need everyone’s help with the collection of student donations.
We will be collecting the weekend of May 20th and 21st, the week of May 23rd and on our biggest weekend of June 3rd & 4th, plus more times will be announced shortly. We would greatly appreciate it if you have a truck, SUV or station wagon that could be used during the collecting dates. Information about how and when to sign up as a volunteer to help with our all-church Tag Sale will be in the Sunday bulletin on May 14th.
June 4 Tag Sale Volunteers – Important Information For You
If you are one of the Give It Up Campaign tag sale collectors on June 4, which is the college commencement date, please note the following: Do not come to the church until 2 pm, as our parking lot will be used in the first part of the day for commencement parking. If you should be stopped by a college traffic control representative at the entrance to Chapin Hall Drive, please tell them you are with the church and participating in pick-ups for the Give It Up Campaign. If you have not already signed up to volunteer a bit of your time to this important FCC fund-raising effort, please contact Jody Green, Annie Parkman or Cynthia Payne.
The college is committed again to help us with the collection process called “Give It Up Campaign” by providing portable containers for the donations, making announcements to students and encouraging their excitement about donating, recycling, and even providing student volunteers to help us collect (2 students, maybe 3, paid by the college). This is such a gift which Williams gives to us toward our fund raising goal. The college/students see this as one way to “save our planet through recycling and reusing” and are very committed to this goal. Our church believes this too!
So, let’s all get behind this collection plan. Please join us on any of the above dates which may suit your schedules. We welcome people of all ages, families with children who can help (the kids seems to get a kick out of this too and learn a valuable lesson), older folks who can stay at church and guide the collectors about where to bring the collected items, and early volunteers who can make the phone calls to sign people up for collection duty. Please save the dates, mark your calendars! If you can spare some time, no matter how small, please respond and let us know. Also, please know that donations for the Tag Sale should not be brought to the church until June 17th. We have no space for storage until that date, so please hold off on bringing down your donations until that date. Thank you everyone.
Thanks so much,
Cynthia Payne, Annie Parkman & Jody Green
