Office Administrator

The primary responsibility of this position is to represent First Congregational Church Williamstown and the Senior Pastor to members of the congregation the public and to be welcoming. The Church Office Administrator greets and assists lay leadership, church members, visitors, tenants. The Administrator’s Office is the reception area and gives direction for resources regarding the church— worship, physical space and use of building. It requires interpersonal or “people” skills and regular engagement with guests in the building. The office administrator will offer a welcome and in it, will reflect First Church and the United Church of Christ’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of their work.

This is a 20 hour per week position.


$22,500-$27,000 per year.


Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but high school and relevant education may be substituted.

Must be comfortable with computer work and willing to be trained on use of church software—especially: Word and Google platforms. Desktop publishing through Canva or similar software, preferred. Website editing using WordPress, essential.


Answer telephone and direct calls
Greet visitors/members and assist with questions


Prepare and electronically distribute eBlast weekly newsletter
Prepare weekly bulletin
Tracking office and church supplies
Sorting and filing mail


Log and copy all incoming Checks for deposit or secure.
Make deposits remotely to the bank. Upload deposits to main financial site.
Receive (from incoming mail and email) all invoices and upload to main financial site (as per Treasurer)
Copy and distribute to Bookkeeper and Treasurer as required.
Enter all church pledges into the Church Financial management system (Breeze)
Refer financial requests/situations/questions to Treasurer, as needed.
